Minnesota Kids Rise Launch

Posted By: Dave Christians Association Updates,

Dear MASA Members,

Every day across Minnesota, our public schools share a common purpose: preparing students for the future. Filled with educators, administrators, and school leaders who work quietly and tirelessly to support students and families. That shared commitment is something worth celebrating and lifting up.

That same spirit of shared purpose is at the heart of an important new initiative being launched in collaboration with the Minnesota School Boards Association, Association of Metropolitan School Districts, Minnesota School Public Relations Association, Minnesota’s State Education Cooperatives, Minnesota Parent Teachers Association, and more educational organizations each day: Minnesota Kids Rise.

Minnesota Kids Rise is a statewide effort designed to provide positive, supportive messaging about Minnesota’s public schools. The initiative will highlight the outstanding work happening in classrooms and communities across the state and help ensure that Minnesotans hear a clear, consistent message about the value and impact of public education.

You first heard more about Minnesota Kids Rise during the MASA Spring Conference on March 19th and 20th, when the initiative will be formally introduced to Minnesota’s superintendents and education leaders. There is nothing for superintendents, district administrators, board members or others to do right now: a key component of this initiative is to create support for our districts while requiring little to no work on your part.

Over the coming months, there will be additional opportunities to learn about the initiative and how it will support districts and communities across Minnesota. For now, we simply encourage you to be aware of this exciting new effort and join us in celebrating the remarkable work happening in Minnesota’s public schools every day.

We look forward to sharing more with you soon.

Warm regards,

Deb Henton, Ed.D.
