Nominations are now open for several seats on the MASA Board of Directors. Nominations will close on January 30, 2026, at 4 pm.
MASA officers and board members have the opportunity to influence education in Minnesota and serve their fellow colleagues. We encourage you to nominate yourself or a colleague who you feel would be a strong leader for MASA!

Each representative will serve a three-year term representing their region and component group beginning July 1, 2026. MASA Board of Directors term limits are two consecutive terms.
All voting members are eligible to submit nominations for President-Elect (from Region 9) and Treasurer (from any region). If your region and component group are not listed among the open Board seats, you are only eligible to nominate for those two positions. The nomination form will guide you to select only the positions available based on your region and component group.
President-Elect Information
In addition, the President-Elect must:
- be an active MASA member
- be a practicing administrator
- have five years of successful administrative experience in Minnesota
- be committed to MASA and its goals
- have time available to represent MASA for three years (2026-29) as President-Elect, President, and Past President
Treasurer Information
- be a MASA member, in the “active” (voting) category
- be a practicing administrator
- have five years of successful administrative experience in Minnesota
- be committed to MASA and its goals
- have time available to represent MASA for three years (July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2029)
- participate in MASA Executive Committee and Board meetings
- represent and promote MASA
- assist the Executive Director in developing the annual budget
- review and approve monthly expenditures
- review the management of investments for the association
Component Group Representative Information
Component Group Representative seats are a three-year commitment, with the possibility of serving up to two terms. The term will officially begin July 1, 2026. Board members typically attend four meetings annually, including:

Fall Conference • 2 half days (Rotating Duluth and Brainerd)

December at Quora Education Center • 5 hours

Spring Conference • 5 hours (Marriott NW)

June Board Retreat • 2 half days (Rotating Minneapolis and Brainerd)
As part of the governing body of MASA, Board members help provide oversight and direction for the Association. This includes:

Evaluating the Executive Director

Approving the annual budget and overseeing financial matters
-
Setting membership dues
-
Adopting MASA’s legislative platform and guiding advocacy priorities
-
Creating and overseeing committees and acting on committee recommendations
-
Reviewing and recommending bylaws changes for consideration by the membership

Supporting the mission and strategic priorities of MASA
