Session Information and Books

You do NOT need to own the book to join the conversation or learn with others!

September 26 | 9-10 via Zoom
Featured Book: “The Fearless Organization: Creating Psychological Safety in the Workplace for Learning, Innovation and Growth” by Amy Edmondson

We will kick off our first MASA EdReads conversation with dialogue around the Fearless Organization, offering practical guidance for teams and organizations serious about success in our current world. We will explore the culture of psychological safety necessary for new ideas, critical thought and creating organizations where the next "left-field idea" could be the next big solution. Join Bill Sommers as he leads us in conversation and shares his insights around creating fearless organizations. View Bill's book notes here!

October 31 | 9-10 via Zoom
Featured Book: “Chief Joy Officer: How Great Leaders Elevate Human Energy and Eliminate Fear” by Rick Sheridan.

Join us as we come together to talk about our role as "Chief Joy Officers" within our organizations. If we truly want to make an impact on others, we need to: understand ourselves, make more leaders, and influence up. The author, Rick Sheridan, offers philosophy and practice that "will help even the most disillusioned of middle managers bring a renewed sense of purpose to their work building others.” Join Bill Sommers as he helps us grow our skills as Chief Joy Officers! View Bill's book notes here!

November 28 | 9-10 via Zoom
Featured Book: “What Got You Here Won't Get You There: How Successful People Become Even More Successful” by Marshall Goldsmith.

Join us this month as we acknowledge the hard truth that that same work that got us where we are today will NOT get us where we want to be tomorrow. This will really be a bit of a collaborative executive coaching session around habits that hold us back and how we can change for the better. Stakeholder Centered Coaching will be a key component of this session. Join Bill Sommers as leads us through this conversation and how we might apply it with our teams . . . and even our students! View Bill's book notes here!
