Budget Reductions & Strategy Sessions
Four session remaining! | November - December 2024
Join MASA for strategy sessions aimed at helping school district leaders navigate the challenges of budget reductions. Metro-area superintendents will share their experiences and strategies for managing cuts, engaging staff and community, and maintaining vital programs. Attendees will be encouraged to share their budget challenges, offer their insights, and engage with colleagues to work through common issues!
The sessions aim to facilitate open discussions on how districts are managing budget reductions due to insufficient funding, while also developing unified talking points for statewide advocacy during the legislative session to push for increased funding for all schools.
All sessions are open to all MASA members (regardless of regional affiliation) including superintendents, business managers, finance directors, and other district-level administrators and staff!
All sessions will be held in person. No virtual participation will be offered. We apologize for any inconvenience.

FAQs
What is our hope for these sessions?
- The opportunity for conversation about how we can best share that budget reductions are occurring across the state due to insufficient funding.
- The opportunity to learn more from colleagues about how they are sharing information with their school board members and communities. What strategies are being employed both to reduce budgets and to communicate with others.
- The opportunity to develop talking points that are common across the state and that we can use as we advocate for increased funding.
- That all attendees will have the opportunity to share their budget situations, their insights, and network with colleagues.
