MASA is excited to sponsor, "So…We Lost Our Referendum: Now What?" This workshop will focus on the challenges, opportunities, and strategies that can guide planning after a referendum loss, hopefully positioning your school district for success in a future referendum.
The main focus of this workshop is on what to do after a loss, however, anyone planning a future operating, bond, or technology referendum would benefit from attending. School districts are encouraged to register a team for maximum value!
Workshop Presenters Don Lifto, Ph.D., School Election Strategies. Lifto has published three books and dozens of journal articles on referendum planning and currently partners with Morris and Leatherman on school surveys.
Jeff Dehler, Dehler PR. Jeff has helped dozens of school districts in multiple states with strategic referendum communications.
Mike Redmond, Superintendent, Shakopee Public Schools. Mike ran an extremely successful operating referendum in 2021 after losing at the ballot box in 2020. Superintendent Redmond and Lifto co-authored "Words of Wheels for Success in a Tax Election," which is a case study of Shakopee's experience published by AASA.
