The job of leadership in public school systems is very complex and you can run into many difficult situations be they with personnel, parents, communities or school boards. MASA wants to provide you with as much assistance as possible. Therefore, in addition to the MASA legal support services, we have also created a Professional Assistance Team (P.A.T.).
As MASA Members run into legal or contractual issues MASA will continue to provide strong consultation and legal support.
The Professional Assistance Team made up of five individuals who have a wealth of experience in operating schools. The P.A.T. team will use their experience to help their colleagues when they need consultation and/or advice when they run into complex situations. While P.A.T. teams have a geographical designation, you may contact anyone of them as you seek assistance.
NORTHERN AREA
Jerry Nesland
Jerry Nesland has served many years as superintendent of schools, most notably at New York Mills. Since his retirement he has served in assignments at the Northwest Service Co-op, Menahga, and Mahnomen. He now serves as the Executive Director of the Freshwater Education District.
