Minnesota's Promise - World Class Schools, World Class State
Introducing the new Minnesota’s Promise: World-Class Schools, World-Class State report. It will be used by district leaders, educators, and elected officials as a strategic template to guide decisions regarding public education over the next decade. As you read the report consider how you could implement these strategies in your district. The original Minnesota’s Promise report was developed by a small group of superintendents in conjunction with the Minneapolis Foundation and the University of Minnesota. Since that time, many other individuals have added to the richness of the document. The final report is the culmination of the work of nearly 500 individuals and 25 education organizations. We are very happy to have it published and ready for wide distribution among educators, legislators, and members of our communities. We ask that you utilize the Minnesota’s Promise report in a number of ways:
We are asking the Minnesota State Legislature to adopt the ten strategies identified in this report as the “Minnesota World Class Education Act”. It will function as a guide to elected officials as they work to place Minnesota’s education system in a more globally competitive position. We are pleased to provide you with this report and sincerely hope that you will work within your school system and community to become an active participant in the movement towards providing Minnesota students with the elements that are essential for high performance. |
